Running TrueSafe as a Windows Service
This section describes how to set up TrueSafe to run as a Windows Service. When running as a service, TrueSafe will run upon system startup instead of waiting for user login.
Installing the Service
-
Open a command prompt window (choose Start Run and enter cmd)
-
Change the folder to the TrueSafe installation folder, e.g. cd “\program files\truesafe”
-
Install the TrueSvc.exe Windows Service by entering the following on the command line:
TrueSvc.exe -Install
-
The service should now be installed successfully. Close the command prompt by entering the following on the command line: exit
TrueSafe Settings
-
On the TrueSafe application window, click the Settings toolbar button, choose System, and turn off "Automatically start when I start up my computer".
Verifying the Service
-
Go to the Control Panel and view the Services. Confirm that the TrueSvc service is listed and Startup Type is Automatic.
-
Optionally, reboot the computer and confirm that TrueSafe is running as a process. Note that depending on the system account the service is running on, the TrueSafe application interface may not be available to users that log in and may not be visible in the tray.
