Moving to a new Host Computer
This section describes how to migrate your TrueSafe Host to a new/different Computer. By following these steps, you can switch Host Computers transparently to your clients.
On your Current Host Computer
Make note of your current Host Computer name:

Click Settings Edit.

Note the Computer Name. You will need this later.
Make note of your unique computer identifier:

Open the Windows Registry Editor. In Windows, choose , and enter RegEdit.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TrueSafe. If you are running Vista, do a search for the TrueSafe key.

Copy the value of the _mg and _mn entries, e.g. to Notepad. You will need these later.
Exit TrueSafe on this computer.
Important- once your new Host Computer is set up, uninstall TrueSafe from this computer and remove the TrueSafe registry entry.
On your New Host Computer

Installing TrueSafe

Install TrueSafe: download and install TrueSafe from www.truesafe.net/download.

Launch TrueSafe: Start TrueSafe, cancel the SignIn dialog, and exit the application.

Modifying the Registry settings to mimic your old host computer:

Open the Windows Registry Editor. In Windows, choose , and enter RegEdit.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TrueSafe. If you are running Vista, do a search for the TrueSafe key. Click the TrueSafe key in the left pane.

Entering the Computer Name: in the right pane, right click and choose New String Value. Set the name to "_mn". Double-click it and set the Value to your Computer Name recorded earlier.

Entering the Computer Identifer: find the _mg entry in the right pane. Double-click it and paste the Value of your Computer Identifer recorded earlier.

Finish Setting up your Host Computer

Launch TrueSafe: Start TrueSafe and SignIn.

Complete TrueSafe setup: finish setting up your host as described in Host Computer Setup.
